Welcome to 1st semester Library Media Aides

This year, you will write at least one paragraph every night that you had a Library Media Aide class during the day. The purpose for this assignment is to strengthen your descriptive writing skills and provide a record for yourself, your parents and for me about what you do each day during this class. I prefer a well-written, correctly spelled descriptive record of what you did during your Library Media Aide class. This blog participation is one rubric for this class. The more that you write the higher your grade will be in the class.

Today in Media Aide, there was a couple of 5th grade classes getting their Vision and Hearing Tests so we couldn't put away some of the books. Then Ms. Roof told us we could blog in the Tech Lab. So, we went into the Tech Lab and blogged.

Today in Media Aide we didn't have much to do because students were getting vision and hearing tests.
All we did was put away books and blog. Ms. Roof let us go on the computers in the technonlogy room to play games.

Today in media aide Hayley and I deleted books from the data base. Then we partnered up and stood the books up so the book shelves would look neater. After we did that, we had nothing else to do so now we are blogging.

Today in Media Aide we couldn't do a lot because the eighth graders were in the library doing there hearing and vision screening so we had to be exra quiet. Then Hayley, Kaylee, Mikayla, and I put spine labels and tape on the books that needed labels. Now we're blogging about what we did today, which was nothing, how boring.

Today was a really fun day in media aid, we were constantly running around the library. Ms. Roof had us use the paper cutter to cut out the late book slips. We then had to sort them out along a table and hilight the dates from August and earlier. We then had to organize the slips of paper by teachers names. Finally we went into the office and put them all into teachers boxes. Today was FUN.

Today was a good day and a great, busy, class. We only had a half-hour class because of eleven thirty dismissal. Today Ms. Sweeny's class came in to check out and reniew books. So we helped them and had fun doing it. Although today was a busy day.

We're supposed to make four posters and then Ms.Roof is going to hang three on the bulletin board and one somewhere else (she never told us where, she just said that we need to make four).

Today in Media Aide we checked in books, which there was a lot of them! When I put them away, it took me a very long time because by the time I was done putting away the books back on the shelves, I only had 20 minutes left of that period to help Kaylee and Hayley in the back room. Kaylee and Hayley were putting labels on books that needed labels and putting covers on the books that didn't have hard book covers, which was sort of fun because I like when you are supposed to take the sticky stuff off the paper so you can make the cover.

Today in Media Aide, Mrs. Roof wasn't here because she went to Washington DC, so we had a subtitute named Mr. Kaplan, which he is so awesome! We checked in books and put them away. Then Mr. Kaplan let us go on the computer for the rest of the period!

Tuesday in Media Aide, we checked in books, magnetized them, and put them away. After that, Haylee, Kaylee, and Mirina put stickers on books. Instead of doing that, I filled in gaps on bookshelves so that we had more room for books.

Today was a busy class that had us running around all period long. It was already hard because Micheal did not show up at school today. First Ms. Roof had us put genre stickers on books, then we had to make covers for those books. We had gotton done with that and then we were told that the State Senator was coming to the library to talk to the 8th grade! Me and Mary helped clean up the library and since we had nothing else to do we joined into the conversation with the Senator, so we were in an 8th grade class. Before I knew it the bell rang and we had to leave. I was sad to leave, but happy to get out with all of those 8th graders!

Today was one of those "do nothing" days in media aid. WE had nothing planned to do, but i was the omly one to notice that there were books that needed to be checked in. So i did that and now i am blogging early, AGAIN!

Today was the beautiful start to a very short week at school. Ms. Roof had us start out by first having us check in the books, like always. Afterwards she had us find covers for a few books and tape each one on the book. It was hard to find which needed and had covers. Next, Ms. Sweeney's class came into the library, so we helped them check out books. We were not done though, next Ms. Roof let us work the laminator to cover the books cover. This did not go well, early on we made a mistake, but all is okay. It was a close call though.

Today was a awesome start to a awesome short week. We started off by checking in books, magnitizing them, and checking them in the sensor. Then we matched book covers to books which was hard but fun. It took a long time but Mrs. Sweeny class came in and we checked out, renewed, and checked in books. It was Mrs. Sweeny's birthday the day before so I wished her a happy birthday. Then Mrs. Roof asked if we wanted to laminate book covers, and of course I excepted. Things started great but got pretty bad. But in the end me and Tim fixed the problem and the day ended good.

Two days ago in Media Aide we checked in one book. Then Hayley and I put away the fiction books while Kaylee and Mikayla put away the non fiction books, but Hayley got checked out early so I did most of the books. The last thing we did was go in the back room and stamped all the books and also wrote down the barcodes of all the books and magnetized the books.

Today was election day, and that means that everyone went and voted for who they think should be president. Anyway, today Ms. Roof had us laminate a lot of book covers. When we thought we were done we then had to find the book for each cover and tape it on. We must have been on task because we got every book done. Now i gotta go home and watch the election!

Then Haily and Marina put magnitizing stripes in books and put stampes on the books. But mickayla and me laminated book covers,cut them out,and folded them. and then the bell rang.

Today was Monday and tomorrow we have no school, so I was in a hurry for the day to be over. Too bad that class was an endless period of time! When we got to class Ms. Roof was not there, she was in the computer lab teaching another class. She came in and just told us to hold down the fort, but she did not tell us that were TWO classes coming into the library. Both Ms. Johnston's class and Ms. Sweeney's class came in. So we had to help them check in and check out books. This class period was long, but fun!

Today in Media Aide there wasn't that many books to check in and put away in the shelves because Mrs. Roof had the Media Aides that were in the class before us put away all the books which I heard there was a lot of books. After we were done putting away books, we went in the back room to put stamps and magnetize all of these new torquoise books, which took us most of the class period. During the time we magnetized and stamped books, a class came in to check out books and yet Mikayla, Hayley, and Kaylee didn't want to help check out books to students so I had to help check out books to students which was actually pretty fun and exciting to do because I never checked in books to a class before.
